1903 A-4 BOLT ACTION SNIPER RIFLE W/ MODEL 330 WEAVER TELESCOPIC SIGHT. Cal. 30-06. Ser. #4997429. Bbl. 24". Bbl. is marked behind sight cuts "RA" "flaming bomb" & "1-44". Receiver has correct offset markings & has been fitted w/ Redfield one piece scope base & Weaver Model 330 scope w/ crosshair reticle. Front sight was not fitted leaving the Parkerized finish intact which was correct for these rifles. Bbl. is marked "RA" "flaming bomb" "1-44". Bolt has correct turned down handle. All visible bolt markings are "R". Cutoff is marked "R". Scope base has Parkerized finish & is marked "REDFIELD at right rear. Blued steel rings. Scope tube is marked "MODEL 330" "PATS. PEND." "W.R. WEAVER CO." "EL PASO, TEX, U.S." Scope is marked on right rear w/ electro-pencil "TELESCOPE M73 B1" "SERIAL NO. 8532". Walnut stock set w/ scant grip & 2 recoil bolts. Stock is marked on left side w/ "RA" & "FJA". All stamped furniture including lg. bow trigger guard & checkered trap buttplate. Marked under forend w/ assembly numbers "A 129 5". CONDITION: stock set has very lg. degree of original finish but w/ light wear, staining & scattered handling marks. Notable semi-circular marks on left side of buttstock likely from ordnance holding fixture. 2 open knots on left side; one over trigger guard retains part of filler, the second, midway of the forend, has no remaining filler & measures approx. 3/4" x 3/8". Metal has lg. degree of original Parkerized finish w/ light wear & scattered scratches notable at forward end of bbl. Furniture has worn blue original finish w/ scattered spots of light oxidation. Scope tube & rings have thinning original finish. Scope optics appear to be slightly cloudy but serviceable. Near excellent shiny bore. (22-4136/RW) CURIO. $3,000-4,000.
