BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE MANUFACTURED IN 1907. Cal. 30-06. S# 291029. Bbl. 24" marked behind front sight “SA” “flaming bomb” “8-06”. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2850 yards w/ volley notch. Dished grooved elevation knob & sm. dished grooved windage knob. Blade front sight. Blued bolt is unmarked. Gas escape hole at bottom of bolt & in extractor. Safety & cutoff have serif letters. High wood matching walnut stock set w/o recoil bolts. Buttstock has boxed “JFC” over trigger guard on left side. Encircled block “P” under grip & tiny “41”. Cutout recess marked w/ “O”. Stock tip has tiny “s”. Smooth trap buttplate. Handguard marked ahead of front sight “s”. No sighting groove. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, scratches & handling marks & early added finish leaving a somewhat glossy appearance. Metal retains traces of blue turning gray w/ patina plus wear, spots of light oxidation & handling marks throughout. Bore is dark w/ oxidation in the grooves; lands worn but still distinct.
