WHEELOCK RIMFIRE RIFLE. Cal. 41. S# 16. 26” oct. to rnd. bbl. marked “ALLEN & WHEELOCK / ALLEN’S PATENT SEP. 18, 1860” on top flat behind adj. notch rear sight, pinched blade front sight. Mounted w/ 2 sling swivels & fancy burled walnut stock. Frame is case colored & has adj. torsion screw for tang sight, crescent shaped case colored buttplate. CONDITION: very fine overall, bbl. retaining 80-90% thinning blue weakest at muzzle, frame & lever retain 60-70% of their case colors w/ balance smooth silver/gray. Stocks are sound other than a lg. hairline crack on right side of wrist, retaining most of their original high polish finish. Mechanics are crisp, bore is bright & shiny w/ sm. area of pitting near muzzle. (01-17458/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
