Cal. 38 Colt. S# 545 on butt. Very rare and desirable DA model, only 926 were produced 1905-1909. Bbl. 6" round with blade front sight and 2 line Hartford address. 6 Shot fluted cylinder revolves counter clockwise. Crane and inside of frame have assembly number "109". Butt is marked "U.S." / "M.C." / "No" / "545". USMC number is described in books as coinciding with Colt number beginning at "10000", a number not found on this gun. Blue finish with polished hammer sides. 2 Piece checkered walnut grips with lanyard ring at butt. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory letter providing the following information "COLT MODEL 1905 MARINE CORPS REVOLVER / Serial Number: 545 / Caliber: .38/c / Barrel Length: 6" / Finish: Blue / Type of Stocks: Not Listed / Sold To: United States Government / Shipped To: Asst. Quartermaster Office / United States Marine Corps. / Address: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania" / Date of Shipment: August 10, 1907 / Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 100". CONDITION: over 80% bright original blue showing muzzle and edge wear with spots of flaking on cylinder. Frame shows small spots of pitting and light scratch on the right side.
