MODEL 1917 REVOLVER WITH ROY JINKS LETTER. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 23913. Approx. 163,600 mfg. Sept. 17, 1917 to Jan. 1919 as secondary handgun to 1911 Government model to fill war time demand; chambered in 45 ACP using half moon clips. Bbl. 5 1/2" w/ half moon front sight & "UNTED STATES PROPERTY" on bottom. Satin blue finished 5 screw N frame w/ 6 shot swing out cyl. & lanyard loop at butt. 2 Piece walnut grips. Case colored hammer & trigger Frame has "GHS" Major Gilbert H Stewart inspector stamp on left side. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Oct. 12, 2015 dated 2 page Roy Jinks letter detailing the History of the .45 Hand Ejector Model of 1917 & records information about this revolver being shipped from the factory on Feb. 18, 1918.
