NATIONAL MATCH BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal.30-06. S# 1271906. Bbl. 24". Excellent example of 1928 national match rifle with a Type “C” stock in fine original condition. Star gauge barrel is marked behind front sight “SA”, “flaming bomb” and “3-28”. Ladder aperture rear sight w/o volley notch. Sight is graduated to 2850 yards. Flat windage and elevation knobs. Blade front sight. Sight base finish is worn from use of sight protector. Receiver rails and top of follower have been polished. Polished bolt with matching electro-penciled serial number has single gas hole. Bolt handle marked on top with “W” “L” & “3”. Reversed safety. Cocking piece is unmarked. Trigger is grooved and appears to be polished at top. Deeply checkered buttplate w/ trap. Matching walnut stock set with very nice appearance marked only with “S” & “O”. Reinforcing bolts marked on left w/tiny “2”. Well used Model 1907 sling dated 1918. Marked “R.I.A.” & “G.&K”. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickle plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has nearly all its original finish with scattered tiny handling marks. Metal has 90% of its original finish with light scratches and tiny handling marks.
