SIDELOCK EJECTOR HEAVY GAME OR PIGEON SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. 2 3/4". S# 39833. Before WWII, Victor Sarasqueta was known for making some of the world's finest guns, many for royalty. This fine gun, made between 1929-31 has 29 3/4" well struck chopperlump bbls. Rear portion of concave matted rib is engraved "Victor" "Sarasqueta" "Eibar" in front of rib extension. Bbl. flats are stamped with Spanish Nitro proofs unique to the period between 1929 and 1931 for 2 3/4" chambers along with running rabbit "VS" logos. Robust coin finished sidelock action features automatic safety ("SEGURO" on silver rectangle), square crossbolt third fastener, vented strikers, gold band tumbler end cocking indicators, slight reinforce to action and double triggers (front articulated). Action is exceptionally well filed and is engraved with very fine full coverage British inspired rose and scroll on lockplates. Bottom of action has floral device superimposed on background of small shaded scroll. Trigger guard is marked "M209" on tang. Straight grip buttstock of fiddle figured and lightly marbled European walnut measures 14 1/2" over "Silver" type pad. Stock features drop points, point pattern checkering on semi diamond hand along with a sling loop and gold oval engraved with monogram "MJ"? on toeline. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .727", L .727". Restriction: R .035" (FULL), L .038" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .029", L .036". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/2". DAC: 1 1/2+". LOP: 14 1/2". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 9 oz. CONDITION: fine as lightly refinished. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a best reblack with a few minor scratches. Action with light polishing to maintain coin finish. Top lever, trigger guard and forend iron retain nearly all of a frosty reblue. Stocks with light oil refinish over a few marks. Checkering recut. Bores are bright and shiny with some very minor light frosting and evidence of minor dent removal about 10" behind muzzle in right bbl. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face.
