MILITARIA INCLUDING SILK ESCAPE MAP OF NAGASAKI, JAPAN. Items include: 1) Silk U.S. WWII aviator's escape map. Map is two sided, one side is Nagasaki. The other side is Kagoshima. Color map is dated 1944 & measures approx. 23" x 26". CONDITION: map has light staining & light fraying at edges. Map & markings are legible & have an attractive appearance. 2) German WWII Banner w/ German party symbol. Banner is red w/ black & white symbol. Measures approx. 100" x 42". CONDITION: banner has light wear & staining, but stitching appears tight. 3) German WWI model 1898 bayonet . 20 1/2" Fullered "epee" type blade w/ 2 piece walnut grips w/o flashguard. Blade is marked on right ricasso "SIMSON & CO. SUHL" has leather scabbard w/ steel mounts. CONDITION: bayonet blade has been sharpened, has wear, scuffing, oxidation & fine pitting. Scabbard has wear, staining & flexing. Mounts are loose & turning patina. 4) Books & magazines: vintage LIFE magazine dated March 5, 1945. The U.S. Camera dated 1945 THE USA AT WAR -- collection of notable photographs. Printed collection of THE EVENING BULLETIN WWII in HEADLINES & PICTURES. WWII by James Jones. THE NAZIS by George Bruce. D-DAY by Nalty & Pritchard. AMERICAN HERITAGE HISTORY of WWII by Sulzberger. CONDITION: Books are in well read condition w/ wear, staining & small tears on dust jackets. 5) Unmarked brown leather carrying case for double shotgun. CONDITION: case has wear, tearing, scuffing & loose stitching. Ends are detached. 6) Brown, leather rifle scabbard marked "Hunter 412-22". CONDITION: case has light staining, scuffing & scattered spots of mildew. Stitching is tight & case appears in good, serviceable condition. (02-14782/RW). $300-600.
