12 GAUGE GAME GUN. S# 214757. Bbls. 27 3/4" w/ 2 3/4" chambers. Made in 1970. No. 2 of a pair made w/ matted concave top rib which has fluorescent orange front sight, gold inlaid "2" at breech ends & scroll wedges. Bbls. of chopper lump construction w/ SN & proof marks on water table. Checkered splinter forend w/ engraved irons has Anson type push button release. Full sidelock case hardened action is nicely engraved in rose & scroll pattern w/ makers name in panel on bottom. Bbl. fences are beautifully relief engraved w/ ducks & scroll & are beaded. Blued top lever engraved in rose & scroll pattern w/ gold inlaid "2" at center & pierced at thumb. Top tang is nicely scroll engraved w/ gold inlaid "S" in front of safety. Gun made w/ nickel plated dbl. triggers, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Straight grain walnut butt checkered in point pattern through the wrist w/ carved teardrops behind locks has lightly engraved silver oval near toe & terminates w/ a "Work Case" White Line waffle pad w/ extra 1/4" extension. Buttstock is a straight grip w/ long tang trigger guard that is nicely scroll engraved at tang & border engraved at bow. Measurements: Right: .724", choke: .024". Left: .724", choke: .042(full). Minimum wall thickness: Right: .034", left: .030". DAC: 1 5/8". DAH: 2". LOP: 14 1/2". Weight: 7 lbs., 1 oz. CONDITION: very good. Bbls. retain approx. 85% of what appears to be their original blue w/ a few areas of light loss towards muzzle & thinning at grip area. Action retains about half of its original case color. Forend w/ minor losses towards muzzle end on both sides. Buttstock may be an early period of use replacement w/ grain separation emanating from back of left lock & another behind the top tang & inletting is short on bottom left stock finger. Butt retains most of its custom finish w/ subsequent light impressions & handling marks. Bores are bright & shiny. Mechanics are fine. W/ a bit of TLC this will make quite a fine handling gun.
