MOST OF WHICH RELATE TO THE CIVIL WAR. This huge group contains excavated mini balls, round balls, buttons, buckles, knapsack parts, eyeglasses, bale seals, hat wreaths, crosses, flint strikers, lead pencils, Masonic items, flints, frame buckles and a myriad of other items. Overall, items date from the colonial period to the close of the Indian War period with the greatest concentration being in and around the Civil War. Nonexcavated items include a number of company letters, buttons and miscellaneous military related items. A few of the nonexcavated items may be restrikes. Please look at photographs of this lot carefully as there are little treasures in every case. CONDITION: excavated items, as expected, have dark patinas and may have breaks or losses.
