US WWII SEMI-AUTO M1 CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 140973. Bbl. 18", marked behind front sight "INLAND MFG DIV. GENERAL MOTORS 12-42". Flip type rear sight marked w/ "S". Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Carbine has correct features for Inland's 1st S# block "May 1942-December 1943". Narrow front band w/ stamped swivel. Straight cut slide marked "PI". Flat bolt marked "IO". Milled trigger guard marked "INLAND" w/ push button safety. Mag. catch marked "W-I". Dog-leg hammer marked "HI". High wood T slot. Walnut buttstock. Buttstock marked in sling slot "IO" marked under grip encircled "P". Right side of buttstock has crossed cannons. 2 Rivet walnut handguard marked "IO". MAGS: 1-15 rd. marked "IU". CONDITION: stock set has nice original finish w/ very light wear & scattered handling marks. Metal has 75% original finish w/ thinning & light wear. Very good shiny bore. (21-3592/RW).
