1894 WINCHESTER LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. S# 50201. Bbl. 26" of tapered pencil configuration octagon resulting of a wall thickness at muzzle of approx. 3/32". Full length takedown mag. Original sporting sights. Blue finish with case colored hammer & lever. Lightweight configuration walnut forearm having a narrow taper along barrel channel. Straight grip walnut stock with steel shotgun buttplate. This uncommon lightweight rifle weights only 7 lbs 3.4 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter stating the following. "Rifle/ 38/55 Caliber/ Barrel Shape: Octagon/ Plain trigger/ Shotgun butt/ Extra light/ Takedown/ Received in warehouse on November 1, 1898/ Shipped from warehouse on November 1, 1898, order number 8485." CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube retain 80% dull lightly faded original blue showing edge & takedown wear. Receiver has 60% dull fading blue. Lever & hammer show sm. amounts of case colors on their sides. Wood has age darkened worn appearance showing scattered scratches & handling marks. Bore has slightly darkened appearance retaining lightly worn rifling. (01-21669/DS). ANTIQUE. $7,500-10,000.
