SEMI-AUTO M1 CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 4296449. Bbl. 18", marked behind front sight "MARLIN". Flip type rear sight marked "S" "N-A". Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Fabricated front sight base marked "SN". Carbine mfg. approx. April 1944 in National Postal Meter's 3rd S# block. Unmarked narrow front sight. Bbl. band w/ swing swivel. Straight cut operating slide marked "N5". Flat bolt marked "N14". Low wood oval cut walnut buttstock marked "TN" in sling slot. Boxed "NPM" "FJA" & "crossed cannons" on right side of butt. Boxed "RIA" "FB" arsenal overhaul mark on left side of butt. 2 Rivet walnut handguard marked "TN". MAGS: 1-15 rd. marked "MN". CONDITION: stock finish has light wear & moderate staining throughout w/ scattered handling marks. Arsenal rework mark may be test & check only. Metal has mix of light & dark gray parkerizing w/ lg. percentage of finish present. Very good shiny bore. (21-3590/RW). CURIO. $1,750-2,500.
