Cal. 12 ga., 2 3/4". S# S20860. Beginning in November 1962 and continuing through February 1963, a group of 22,000 specially serial numbered riot shotguns were furnished to the U.S. government. Serial numbers beginning S1000 and ending with S23499 were complimented with non matching military numbers. Bbl. 20" cylinder bore with brass bead. Solid frame construction. Barrel is tightly fixed in frame as opposed to takedown function used in commercial production. Barrel and receiver have matching serial numbers. Parkerized finish. Top of barrel and receiver have "P" firing proofs. Right side of receiver is marked "US" at front with matching military number P3427 at rear of receiver and head of stock. Left side has "DP" inspection marks on receiver next to stock markings "BP" and two additional illegible characters. Small round grooved forearm and oil finished pistol grip stock with plastic buttplate. Right side of stock has red painted unit markings "L10". Web sling on original swivels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: P-1253 (8/67) Range Equipment Issued Record L-10 listing shotgun and serial number with issue information marked "CHECKED DEC 3 1976". CONDITION: metal retains 80% parkerized finish showing slide and carry wear with light handling marks. Markings have added white highlighter. Wood has good finish showing a few small marks. Bore shows scattered very light pitting. (22-4159/DS). CURIO. $3,000-4,500.
