Very Early Winchester Model 42 Slide-Action Shotgun, #728. .410 bore 26'' barrel has a 3'' chamber, is choked ''Skeet'', and has an aftermarket vent rib that extends to the rear of the receiver. The refinished receiver also has the bolt and shell carrier machine turned. The full forend and pistol-grip buttstock have been upgraded to high-grade walnut, with fleur-de-lis skipline checkering, inlaid wood grip cap, right-hand Monte Carlo cheekpiece, some wood carving, and a Pachmayr basketweave butt pad. Mfg'd first year of Model 42, 1933. Condition is excellent as refinished and upgraded. Action locks tight and functions correctly, bore is bright. Est.: $1,200-$1,500. (C&R)(Don Koll collection)
