W & C Scott were one of the major English gun makers dating back to 1834. the company merged with P. Webley & Son in 1897 to form Webley & Scott Revolver and Arms Co Ltd, but continued to market high-end shotguns under the W&C Scott brand. Damascus barrels with sighting bead have been shortened to 18 3/8", to coach configuration, looks period done. Top lever, single extractor, double triggers, company name on conclave rib, action, hammers and tangs have very nice floral/scroll engraving, the locks and triggerguard have engraved scenes of dogs chasing game birds. the stock and forearm are checkered, smooth steel buttplate, German silver round initial plate inletted in underside of stock and the grip cap has a " grotesque face" craved into it. Underside of barrels stamped "13" (.710" bore) with Birmingham proof marks. Chokes measure IC and M. Bores are good, bright , some scattered light pitting, barrels lock-up tight, the left hammer spur is broken off, the wood is overall good/sound witha small crack and chip on the forearm, the engraving is crisp/clear and the barrel have surface rust/light pitting, mostly on the left barrel. May improve with cleaning.
