Cal. 10 Ga., 2 7/8". S# 48. Bbl. 31 3/4" of Twist steel w/ bead front sight. Top flat of bbls. is marked "W. RICHARDS LONDON LAMINATED STEEL" along w/ inscription "PRESENTED To George D Moore 1st Place USMA Long Range Rifle Match May 22, 1888". Top lever sidelock exposed hammer action w/ scroll & borderline engraving having vignettes of flying ducks on lockplates. Dbl. triggers, extractors. Key fastened ebony tipped splinter forearm & rnd. knob stock of checkered walnut. LOP: 14 1/2" over steel shotgun buttplate. WEIGHT: 10 lbs., .7 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: West Point Military Academy brochure, card & photo of George Davis Moore. Also includes several pages of printed info. pertaining to Mr. Moore's life & military career. He was born Sept., 1867 in Illinois. Appointed to West Point July, 1886. Served through the Phillipine Campaign & WWI to the temporary rank of Brigadier General. Died Dec. 1947 in San Diego, CA. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to gray showing spots of corrosion & light pitting. Wood has dark worn appearance w/ numerous dents & handling marks. Forearm is chipped along channel. Stock has sm. chips behind locks & tang. Dark pitted bores. Action is loose at breech. (01-17208/DS). ANTIQUE. $500-800.
