Cal. 12 Ga 2-1/2''. S# 46502. Bbl. 30’’ of fine Damascus steel with matted sunken rib. Left bbl. is marked with maker’s name followed by London & Paris addresses. Right bbl. Is marked “Winner of the London Gun Trials-1875, 1877, 1878 & 1879”. Case colored scalloped box lock action with under lug & cross bolt locking. Selective ejectors. Double triggers with Greener style safety mounted on left stock ear. Engraving consists of scenes of bird, dog & partridge on right side, waterfowl on the left, 2 rabbits on the floorplate & 2 pointing dogs on the trigger guard bow. Balance of action has very fine scroll engraving with floral borders that extend to ornate bolsters. Top tang, long tang trigger guard, forearm metal & breech end of bbls. Top lever has a gold inlaid crown. Splinter forearm with horn tip & straight hand stock of fancy English walnut having vivid dark streaking. Stock ears are capped with horn points. Fine borderless segmented hand checkering covers most of forearm & wraps around wrist of the stock. Toeline of stock has oval nameplate with intertwined initials that may be “SA”. Toeline of stock & bbls. have sling swivel eyes. LOP: 13-15/16’’ over a checkered horn buttplate. DAC: 1-5/8’’. DAH: 2-3/8’’. Stock has a very slight cast on. Bore diameter: RT .732, LT .729. Choke constriction: RT .007, LT .033. Minimum wall thickness: RT .029, LT .029. Chambers are lengthened to 2-3/4’’. WEIGHT: 6 lbs, 11.4 ozs. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: oak & leather case w/ green cloth fitted interior. Inside of case lid has red W.W. Greener label with 68 Haymarket London, S.W. address. Case contains snap caps & leather wallet with cleaning brush. CONDITION: fine. Bbls. retain over 90% gray tone brown finish showing elegant pattern. Action shows lightly visible case colors in protected areas with balance fading to gray. Trigger guard blue shows carry wear. Wood finish shows light wear with numerous scratches, marks & small dents. Checkering shows some thinning. Very good bright bores. Gun is tight & on face, top lever sets nicely right of center.
