W.W. Greener Side Lever Hammer Gun, #11463, 10 ga., 32'' Damascus barrels, beautiful engraved rebounding locks, side lever action opening, outside hammers, walnut stock with 14'' length of pull and metal buttplate, wedge retained forend with horn tip. Nice border and embellished engraved frame, trigger guard with engraved hunting dog and bird. Left lock engraved with two grouse, the right with two pheasants. Hammers are nicely engraved and have original retaining screws. Checkered walnut stock with blank silver oval at bottom. Metal buttplate with engraved screws. Damascus barrels have an old browned finish and are marked in the center rib ''W.W.GREENER, ST. MARY'S WORKS BIRMINGHAM''. Barrels are numbered to the gun and have black powder Victorian era proof marks. Mfg'd ca. 1873. Condition is very good with barrels having a nice dark patina, a few minor nicks outside, and bright bores with a few small scattered pits. Frame and locks have a dark uncleaned patina with remnants of case coloring in a few protected areas. Stock shows numerous dings, scuffs, minor scratches overall, and one small gouge at the bottom near the silver oval. Checkering may have been lightly freshened. Overall a nice old Greener that will improve with a little light cleaning. Locks and side lever function well, with good lockup, and only the slightest movement in the barrel face. Est.: $1,000-$2,000. (Antique)
