ARTIST VICKIE McMILLAN-HAYES "Black Danger" 16" x 20" Acrylic on Board. Donated by Vickie McMillan, a native Texan, creates breathtaking wildlife and nature paintings that advance global conservation causes, envisions and executes public installations, and passionately conducts art-based global outreach initiatives that equip, encourage, and motivate disadvantaged, disabled, and impoverished people. Her large public installations include public buildings, hospitals, schools, correctional facilities and other government organizations. Her award-winning paintings have been exhibited in both Art Museums and fine art galleries throughout the country and abroad. Many of her paintings are included in museum collections, corporate and private collections. Such as but limited to: The Briscoe Western Art Museum, Night of the Artists; U.S. Department of State/ Art of Embassies, Painting in Africa; Artists for Conservation International Exhibition; Birds in Art, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, RS Hanna Gallery, Fredericksburg; The Salmagundi Club, New York. She has been published in well-known magazines, articles and reviews both locally and internationally. Vickie is a lifetime member of the HSC and has given many originals and giclee prints over the years. She was also the HSC, SCI Houston Artist of the Year and has participated with the HSC Youth Wildlife/Conservation raising awareness through the arts. As a master in acrylics, Vickie captures the resplendent beauty of fauna and flora by creating stunning works of art. Drawing upon her extensive field study and award- winning photography, her accurate yet stylistic paintings are in-demand among discriminating collectors of fine art. Her unique style of impasto- impressionistic paintings was developed over time due to a disability she has called Essential Tremors.
