ACTION SRC. Cal. 44 HRF. S# 102482. Silver finished receiver has beautiful hand engraving in typical Nimschke style. Sides of receiver have an arabesque scroll engraving w/ punch dot backgrounds. Left side plate has Daisy at center of scrolls w/ spray of flower petals above scrolls. Top tang & bottom of receiver have scroll highlights. Front receiver ring has semi circular sunburst pattern. Top of action has fancy borders & geometric shapes highlighting a flower behind the ejection port. Floorplate has diagonal line engraving. Brass buttplate has matching scroll & borders. Bottom of receiver has engraver's signature "LDN". Bbl. 20" carbine style w/ 2 line markings. Band mounted blade front sight & single folding leaf carbine rear sight. Full length mag. Brass action has saddle ring & staple on left side. Band fastened carbine forearm & straight grip walnut rifle stock w/ brass crescent trapdoor buttplate. S# indicates 1872 Mfg. Top tang channel of stock & inside toe of buttplate have matching number "2482". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 3 piece brass tipped cleaning rod held in butt compartment. CONDITION: action & buttplate retain over 50% silver finish w/ a dark tarnish in protected areas. Bbl. & mag. tube have smooth blue/brown patina indicating touch up finish. Stock & forearm have added varnish over a worn weathered appearance w/ numerous scratches & dents. Bbl. shows wrench marks & is loose w/ sideways play on frame.
