Cal. 44 Henry CF. S# 94369. Bbl. 20" w/ Barleycorn front sight & folding leaf carbine rear sight. Brass action w/ replacement saddle ring on left side. S# on lower tang appears to have been restamped, left inside lower tang has matching last 3 digits "369". Left sideplate engraved "PVT. THEO. GOLDIN / 7th U.S. CAVALRY / 1876" marking commemorates the military service of Mr. Goldin. Theodore W. Goldin enlisted in the US Army in 1876 & was assigned to the 7th Cavalry. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Walnut carbine forearm & straight grip carbine stock w/ brass trapdoor carbine buttplate. CONDITION: metal parts have a brown/gray appearance. Mag. tube shows several dents. Lever shows scattered pitting. Polished action is beginning to reacquire a patina. Some action screws are replacement. Heavily sanded & refinished wood has dark worn appearance w/ a crack extending from right side of action. Forearm has crack at left side of tip. Toeline of stock has filled hole for apparent sling attachment. Dark pitted bore w/ partially intact rifling. Action has weak spring tension. (01-18865/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-3,900.
