LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. S# 120922. Bbl. 24" lightweight tapered round. Ramp mounted Lyman No. 4 ivory bead hunting front sight with sporting rear sight and Lyman No. 21 (Climbin' Lyman) rear sight. Full length takedown magazine. Blue finish with case colored hammer, trigger, and lever. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock of XX fancy walnut with style "H" factory checkering and hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Inside left lower tang is marked with assembly number "186" followed by "SXX" wood grade markings. Top tang stock channel has matching "186" assembly number. Left side of stock has a German silver oval name plate marked "John G. Leonard". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter stating: "Serial number application date not available / Type: Rifle / Caliber: 45/70 / Barrel Type: Round / Barrel Length: 24 inches / Extra Light / Trigger: Plain / Fancy, Checkered stock and forearm / Sights: Lyman front and rear / Shotgun butt, Rubber buttplate / Takedown / Received in warehouse on Feb. 06, 1900 / Shipped from warehouse on Feb. 06, 1900, Order number 50102". CONDITION: barrel and mag. tube retain over 90% lightly faded original blue. Action shows over 80% lightly faded blue showing edge wear and small scratches. Lever and hammer retain 40% light case colors. Original wood finish shows light wear with scattered scratches and marks. Sound mechanics. Bright, near excellent bore. (22-190/DS).
