LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 33 W.C.F. S# 144701. Bbl. 24" tapered rnd. w/ ramp mounted Lyman No. 4 ivory hunting front sight, filler in rear dovetail w/ combination tang sight. This beautiful rifle has No. 9 style factory engraving. Engraving features vignettes of big horn ram on right side w/ a grizzly on the left. Vignettes are bordered by vine type foliate scroll w/ beaded backgrounds & surrounded by straight & wavy line borders accented by punch dots. Matching scroll continues to the lower portions of receiver, top tang, front ring & along the ejection port. Breech end of bbl. is also adorned w/ matching scroll. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Forearm & straight grip stock of XX Grade walnut have beautiful burl figure w/ reddish tones & dark contrasts. Features include style H hand checkering & checkered hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Left inside of top tang marked "17" followed by "1" in a triangular inspection mark. Left inside of lower tang marked w/ assembly # "613" followed by wood grade marking "XX". Top tang channel of stock has matching # "613". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum records check providing the following information "33 cal, rnd bbl, plain trigger, fancy checkered stock, Lyman front and rear sights, blank in rear seat, half magazine, shotgun butt with rubber buttplate, takedown, and engraved $4.00 number 9, substitute vignette no. 3 and no. 12. Showing shipment on July 6, 1908. Order no. 153856B". CONDITION: bbl. & action retain over 95% properly restored blue w/ clear sharp engraving. Blue shows light edge wear & fading. Hammer & lever retain over 90% beautiful reapplied case colors showing some carry wear. Stock & forearm finish shows light wear & spots of finish loss w/ scattered sm. dents, scratches & marks. Toe of stock has a sm. spot of filled repair. Crisp mechanics. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. (20-4336/DS). CURIO. $25,000-32,500.
