SERIAL NUMBER 9878 BARREL 5" CALIBER 45 ACP MANUFACTURED 1917. One of the least common and very desired WW1 production Model 1911 Gov't 45 Pistols ever produced. The Remington -UMC. Standard in configuration and an exact copy of the Colt produced model. Made to supplement the production of Colt. Slide has the "REMINGTON UMC" monogram in the center of the left side surrounded by 3 lines of patents and the Remington UMC address. The frame has the E.E.C. inspection only done on the REM/UMC 1911 pistol. The balance of the pistol is standard in every way with the exception of not having the "P" proof that the Colt variation had on its slide and frame. CONDITION. Very good as arsenal or depot refinished post WW1 for reissue. The bore is very good with strong rifling the grips are slightly worn but remain full sized and serviceable. C&R
