This is a vintage circa WW2 Sensenich Yellow Birch Wooden Airplane Propeller. It is a large, 2-blade, fixed pitch, wooden construction with metal covered tips painted OD green, measuring 90 inches long and has metal leading edges to each blade. Both Sensenich decals still intact and in excellent condition. It has the following markings tamped on the 8 bolt hub, "DWG NO. 44K24605" (military designation for the 90JA-81 and was used in the AT-17 Bobcat WWII Airplane), "SER NO. 87006" (Correct-no letter(s) prefix indicates it was manufactured during the company's early years, specifically between Oct. 1932 and 1943, "HP 225 RPM 20", "ENGINE R-755-9", AIRPLANE AT17 and "SENSENICH". The matching serial number is also stamped on the side of the hub. Drawing No. 43K13605 is an authentic WWII-era, 90-inch wooden propeller designed for the Cessna AT-17 (Bobcat/T-50) powered by twin Jacobs R-755-9 engines. Because this specific drawing reflects a 1943 military contract, original airworthy versions are now primarily historical artifacts or collector's items. The Cessna AT-17 "Bamboo Bomber" is a twin-engine, wood-and-fabric aircraft widely used during World War II. Originally designed in 1939 as the civilian Cessna T-50, it became a primary multi-engine trainer and light personnel transport for the U.S. Army Air Forces. It was used extensively to train bomber and transport pilots, navigators, and for formation flying. Excellent, unrestored condition.
