WW2 Waffen SS Panzer Uniform
Original items. Rare, untouched, 10th Waffen-SS Frundsberg Division NCO/EM's black panzer wrap. SS pattern, black wool/rayon blend, waist length, double breasted panzer wrap tunic. Left front panel, with four hidden button holes, overlaps right front panel with four corresponding large black bakelite buttons. Upper right panel also has three small black bakelite buttons with corresponding button holes in the left lapel. Two small buttons are missing with one in in the inside pocket, along with a large button that has come loose. Two small buttons on the edge of the right panel. Single metal hook and eye at neck. Top button hole on the left lapel has an EK2 and Russian front ribbon. The front opening is vertical as opposed to the slightly diagonal opening of the army pattern tunic and the peak lapels are somewhat smaller then the army pattern lapels. Lower left breast with six horizontal thread loops for wear of three awards. Judging by the size I would guess top EK 1st class, bottom Panzer assault Badge, and Wound Badge. Lining has faint but readable ink stamped sizes on left panel, correct two belt support straps with hidden eyelets for belt hooks. Single piece back panel with two tapering darts near bottom edge. Of Note: The army pattern panzer wrap tunic had a two piece back panel with central vertical seam. Insignia on this tunic is fantastic and all original machine stitching. Insignia include NCO/EM machine embroidered weave runic collar tab, SS-Scharfuhrer (Staff Sargeant) collar tab, correct pink piped slip-on, rayon lined tongue, shoulder boards with SS-Scharfuhrer tress. NCO/EM machine embroidered sleeve eagle, machine sewn , and 10th Waffen SS division Frundsberg cuff title. The cuff title is torn & frayed, which is consistent with the operation in a tank, levers, sharp edges, etc. All original buttons and stitching. Lay down collar with the correct zig-zag reinforcement stitching to reverse. Black Panzer trousers, unmarked, believe Army as the watch pocket has flap where SS didn't. (Very common for the SS to use army stores), reinforced seat. Have seen heavy use, stained, many stitched repairs/patches, again consistent with operating in a tank, oil, grease, sharp edges. Consigner states these came together as a set, Has that 'been there, done that' look. Frundsberg saw heavy combat on the Eastern front, and fought the allied forces in Normandy, surrendering to the U.S. Army at the end of the war. All stitching passed the black light test.
