WWI 1914 Erfurt Artillery Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #4075b, 9mm cal., 8" barrel, rust blue finish, straw colored small parts, sear safety, inverted-"V" front sight, adjustable rear sight with small "V"-notched groove graduated to 800 meters, with stock lug. Includes one nickel plated magazine with wood base. Magazine body is unmarked; base is marked "(crown)/M" and numbered "1933". Pistol is marked "(Crown)/ERFURT" on toggle link, with "1914" date on top of the chamber. Right side of receiver with three "crowned" gothic letters and Imperial firing proof. Right side of rear sight base also with firing proof; left side with "(Crown)/RG" Imperial rework proof mark. Takedown lever is marked with a small script "S"; no serial number. Matching visible numbers, including the back of each grip. The exception being the firing pin, which is oddly enough stamped with transposed number "57". Pistol is in good condition overall. Metal displays a mottled combination of thinning and toning blue finish mixed with patina/bare gray metal. Sideplate, front and backstrap are now gray, mixed with some spots of light patina. Sideplate and left side of the frame have a few spots of light pitting. There are also a few larger spots of pitting along the underside of the barrel. Proof marks and other factory lettering are clear. Straw colored parts are now primarily silver; thumb safety has toned dark. There is one larger impression to the left grip panel; otherwise, both show moderate age and handling wear. Action and hold open function properly. Bore with light frosting throughout and the grooves are dark; rifling is good. Magazine body shows mild yellowish toning; base with intermittent minor marks. Est.$1,800-2,400. (C&R/PPT)
