ACCOUTREMENTS. This desirable set is all of Mills manufacture. A similar set is pictured on page 778 of the book, U.S. MILITARY HOLSTERS AND RELATED ACCOUTREMENTS by Edward Scott Meadows. The web holster is equipped with Model 1910 belt hook. The flap is marked on the inside with the Mills cartridge logo. The metal tip is marked at the bottom with both the Mills logo and 1914 patent dates. Holster is equipped inside with felt pad. Flap is fastened w/ "lift the dot" type fastener. The Model 1912 pistol belt is marked on the end tab "MADE BY" / "MILLS WOVEN CARTRIDGE BELT CO." / "WOCESTER MASS U.S.A.". Belt is marked inside w/ stenciled "LFP" and inked w/ name "CLAUDE HAWKENS" / "US ?". Belt is equipped with a trapezoidal ring for the saber attachment. Two strap saber attachment which is marked "MILLS" on the long strap. Straps are equipped w/ locking swivels. Two pocket mag. pouch. Flap is secured by 2 rimless eagle snaps and is marked inside w/ Mills cartridge logo plus "1914". Cartridge pouch has belt loop w/out position snap. Mills first aid pouch marked inside w/ Mills cartridge logo. Flap is retained by 2 plain snaps. Pouch has wired belt hook. Pouch contains sealed U.S. Army first aid packet dated 1914. All items have Mills Bronze subdued brass fittings. CONDITION: all items are in very good serviceable condition w/ very light wear & a sm. degree of staining commensurate w/ age & careful use. Metal trimmings have some finish loss but still retain a pleasing patina. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows. (02-22084/RW). $2,000-3,000.
