ACTION RIFLE USING WWI AUSTRIAN CAPTURED RECEIVER. Cal. 7.62x53R. S# 23373. The WWI Imperial eagle marked hex receiver is stamped "AZF" ("A" partially stamped) on top indicating Austrian captured & reissued for Artillery troops during WWI. Rifle had been procured in the Inter War period & Tikka gave the rifle a new barrel. Appears to have recycled hex receiver, leaf & ladder rear sight (remarked from archins to meters), Russian 2 piece hardwood stock, mag. assembly (old S# crossed out), cleaning rod & buttplate. The CAI import marked 31.5" bbl. w/ stepped front sight. Tula bolt renumbered to match. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: rare Type 2 Model 1891 bayonet w/ 17" spike blade numbered "12044". CONDITION: good blue fading to brown w/ old arsenal refinish having prior pitting, wear & peppery oxidation. Good stock w/ moderate marks, previous repairs & sm. cracks. Good bore. (22-700/MD).
