WWII ERA MILTARY INSIGNIA & MEMORABILIA.

1) BLOOD CHIT. A WWII era blood chit depicting a Chinese flag w/ embroidered 12 pointed star in the center of the canton.
2) EMBROIDERY. A framed embroidery for a US marine featuring a helmeted bulldog over crossed Chinese & American flags. In the center is an embroidered 1st Marine Airwing patch. Below that is a Chinese dragon & a holly swag. Cloth is further embroidered. “TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD 1946-7 TAKU MIRAMAR PARRIS I., TSINGTAO, CHERRY POINT, SHANGHAI, TIENTSIN, CHINA AND STINKY TOM MUCKLE FIRST MARINE AIRWING”.
3) AIR FORCE PATCHES. A frame containing WWII period Air Force patches including the 1st through the 15th Air Force, the 20th Air Force & the Far East Air Forces patch. In the center is a 2 star Son in Service flag.
4) PRINT. This print depicts the USS Yorktown & has a card inside w/ the owner’s name & 4 ribbons that he won in WWII. 2 Dog tags are attached to the back of the frame.
5) WWII MEMORABILIA. A frame containing WWII items belonging to Corporal Marion Karaniewski including a 43rd Infantry Division patch, 2 enamel DI’s, 1 silver star w/ oak leaves & 1 aluminum handled fighting knife w/ Karaniewski’s name on the back. Karaniewski died in Jan. 1945 & is buried at the American cemetery in Manila.
6) GLIDER GROUP. This group includes sterling glider pilot wings w/ collar insignia & rank insignia for a Lieutenant & Captain. A dog tag included in the group is for Robert C. Borgens. There are 2 sphinx collar insignia, an overseas cap & a patch that reads, “24TH A.A.F.G.T.D. OKMULGEE OKLA.”. CONDITION: items generally show very light wear & have been well preserved.
