WWII Era Australian Fighting Knife, similar to the knife on page 69 of ''Knives of the United States Military World War II'', by Michael W. Silvey. These knives were attributed to the Aussie Rangers and many were unmarked custom made knives. 8-3/4'' blade, 14'' overall, full brass guard, wood handle held in place by two pins, unmarked leather sheath with brass belt and buckle keeper strap. Condition is very good overall as custom made, as these knives were slightly crude in construction. Blade shows signs of age and wear with carbon spotting and scattered light pitting. Bandle with some oil darkening but remains tight. Leather sheath with cracking near the tip, keeper strap, and belt loop; stitching and seams remain tight. Est.: $400-$600.
