WWII GERMAN ALLGEMEINE SS STANDARTE  4  OVERCOAT.

An exceptionally rare & original black wool SS 6 button overcoat. This coat is of fine black wool with flat slash pockets on either side. The left side has a dagger hanging ring. Coat has a single black and silver bullion shoulder board on the right shoulder as worn by enlisted personnel. The collar is completely piped in twisted black and silver bullion. One collar tab has "37" and the other has 2 narrow bullion tapes with a single pip denoting an Oberscharfuhrer (Senior Squad Leader) of the 37th Regiment. The left cuff has a cuff title with "4" denoting Standarte 4 of the Allgemeine SS. The interior of the coat is stenciled "50" in white at the top along with a white mfg. mark in a rectangle that appears to read, "VA:" with partially illegible numbers beneath. The interior of the inside pocket has a sewn in RZM tag that reads, "MANTEL SS.HERSTELLER D2/61086 REICHSZEUGMEISTEREI DER NSDAP, NR. A 010421". D2/61086 is written in ink and 010421 is an ink stamp. The remaining marks are preprinted. An exceptionally fine & seldom encountered original Allgemeine SS overcoat. CONDITION: amazingly, the coat shows light wear throughout with no notable damage or mothing. (02-17160/BF). $8,000-12,000.
