WWII GERMAN CIVIC MODEL SQUARED DIP HELMET FOR THE
RED CROSS. This scarce helmet has a blue-gray painted finish with two 7-hole vents on each side. The left side has a black, white & red German Red Cross eagle, and the right side is blank. The inside rear is stamped “B (logo) BF VORSCHRIFTSMASSIG LT. GESETZ 3.5.34”. The 9-tongue liner is made of tan leather and has the name “Rirhl Ludwig” inscribed in ink. There is a tan leather pad in the crown, and the black leather chinstrap is a 4-point attachment type. CONDITION: helmet retains over 95% of its original finish. The decal is over 95% complete. Liner appears to have some rodent damage. Chinstrap shows light wear. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18302/BF). $400-600.
