WWII GERMAN INFANTRY PRIVATE’S UNIFORM COAT AND A

PAIR OF CAVALRY TROUSERS. 1) TUNIC. The uniform coat is a standard enlisted pattern with a 5 button front & 4 pleated flap pockets. It has slip on shoulder straps with flat sew on collar tabs. The original period sewn breast eagle is intact and the left sleeve boasts a Krim shield and a Gefreiter chevron. The waist has sewn holes for belt support and there are 2 loops to support a badge on the left breast pocket. Above the left breast pocket are two more loops for a ribbon bar. The second button from the stop has a 2nd Class Iron Cross ribbon and a Russian front medal ribbon. Uniform includes a leather belt with Army enlisted buckle. CONDITION: the entire uniform shows light wear overall with only a few tiny traces of moth damage. Belt shows light wear overall.
2) TROUSERS. A seldom seen pair of original German cavalry trousers in field green heavy wool. The entire seat, down to nearly the knees, is reinforced with leather. There is a 3 button closure at the calf. Suspender buttons are intact and there is a size adjustment strap in the back. The 5 button fly utilizes brown composite buttons. The inside of the waistband is stamped “67 80 H41 100 96” & “B. Rawe & Co. Rheds-Westf.”. CONDITION: trousers remain quite solid, although there is some minor moth nips scattered throughout.
