WWII GERMAN LUFTWAFFE GENERAL’S PANTS, ARMY

OFFICER’S PANTS & A BLACK PANZER SHIRT.
1) LUFTWAFFE GENERAL’S PANTS. These pants are in the form of riding britches & are made of a fine, steel blue wool gabardine. They are piped in white down the sides & the piping is flanked by 1 1/2" wide white stripes on either side. There are 2 diagonal slash pockets in the front along with a watch pocket & 2 flap pockets in the rear. There are a total of 6 buttons at each cuff to close the calf area of the pants for insertion into boots. The fly has a 4 button closure with 1 metal clip. The lining of the waist is a striped white cotton mixed with plain white cotton. Pocket bags are of a coarser white cotton. CONDITION: pants are well worn with some fraying at the edge of the front pockets & period sewn repairs at the fly, butt & knee area. 1 Button is broken & 1 is missing. Interior lining is a bit frayed.
2) ARMY OFFICER’S PANTS. These pants are in the form of riding britches & are made of sage green wool gabardine. There are 2 vertical slash pockets in the front along with a flapped watch pocket & 1 flap pocket in the rear. There are 4 buttons at each cuff to close the calf area. The fly has 4 closure buttons & there is a single closure button at the waistband. The waistband is lined in green rayon & the pocket bags are dull green cotton. CONDITION: pants show a few minor seam openings & could use a careful cleaning. There is no notable moth damage or repairs.
3) PANZER SHIRT. The collared, long sleeved shirt is made of a black, lightweight cotton jersey knit material with 2 button flap pockets in the front. The pullover shirt has a partial 5 button closure down the front. The pocket flaps & button area are backed in heavier gray cotton. There are 2 buttons on each cuff. CONDITION: shirt shows light wear overall with a couple of very minor seam openings. PROVENANCE: Lifetime Collection of Dennis Ottaway. (02-15991/BF). $1,700-2,200.
