WWII GERMAN POLITICAL LEADER’S ORTSGRUPPE LEVEL

UNIFORM & VISOR CAP. This is the uniform of a WWII German political leader of the Ortsgruppenleitung level. Uniform coat is a dark mustard brown wool gabardine with 4 eagle decorated political leader buttons down the front, 4 on the pockets & 2 at the tail. There are 2 sets of loops on the left breast pocket to accommodate 2 badges. There are no shoulder boards as usual & there are no collar tabs on this uniform. The top of the lapel is piped in blue. The left sleeve has a correct Orts level political leader’s armband with blue piped edging on a red field. There is a central embroidered gold leaf motif band with a central sewn Party symbol on a round white field with celleon gold borders & a central metal pip. The rear of the coat has 2 gilded loops to support a belt along with 2 buttons above the vent. The lining is a medium brown cotton fabric & the sleeves are lined with white & brown striped decorated cotton. There is an inside left & white breast pocket & a cloth hanging strap in the collar. The visor cap has a dark mustard, wool gabardine crown & a brown velvet band. The entire cap is piped with the correct blue color for an Orts level political leader. The chinstrap is celleon terminated in gold colored, pebble finished buttons. The cap has the correct gilded political leader cap eagle with a gilded wreath & correct political cockade. The composite visor has a dark brown face with a medium brown underside. The sweatband is ventilated brown leather & the lining is a dull gold rayon fabric. There is a sm. sewn diamond shaped sweatshield in the crown. CONDITION: the coat shows moderate wear with some visible evidence of moth damage. The cap shows a few very light, scattered moth nips & light overall wear. There is minor staining in the crown lining & the sweatband is missing about 1 1/2".
