WWII GERMAN SA OFFICER'S KEPI. A fine condition SA officer's kepi or "coffee can" hat. Kepi has a tan body and visor of fine wool. The top of the side is red and there is a 1" band around the entire cap utilizing gold bullion threads. The entire cap is piped in silver bullion cord. The front features an early plated eagle with a pebble finished button below. Chinstrap is brown leather with brown enameled side buttons. Tan sweatband with light tan cotton liner and triangular sweatshield. There is an RZM tag under the sweatband attached to the body of the cap that reads, "DIENSMUTZE" at the top. CONDITION: the exterior of the hat is in fine condition with no moth damage. The chinstrap is slightly flexed and just a bit flaked. The sweatband shows light wear. The interior shows notable sweat stains throughout that have discolored the liner and faded the RZM tag. (02-17087/BF). $1,500-2,000.
