WWII German Naval Officer's Lion's Head Sword, by WKC. Brass lion's head pommel with red and green glass eyes for port and starboard. Decorated handguard and folding front and rear langets. Large fouled anchor on the front langet (the German navy never adopted the swastika on its swords). The 29'' long blade is etched decorated with floral scenes and a fouled anchor, maker marked at the ricasso with a knight's head and ''WKC''. Condition is good overall. Blade shows age graying and minor rust stains, but no pitting. There are a few very minor edge nicks. Scabbard is leather with decorated brass fittings, showing age cracks, scuffs, and scratches. There is one retaining staple missing from the upper fitting and the fitting is loose. There is a large light gold bullion sword knot tied on the handle. Est.: $600-$1,000.
