Inscribed double action semi-automatic compact pistol chambered in 7.65mm Browning, manufactured in Zella-Mehlis, Thuringen, Germany circa 1930. The right side of the slide is period engraved “General Felix Steiner”. Steiner was a highly decorated SS Commander during the Nazi era. He was awarded the The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords, and commanded (at varying times) the Verfügungstruppe SS Regiment Deutschland, SS Division Wiking, III SS Panzer Corps, and 11th SS Panzer Army. Pistol features a blued finish, 3.9" fixed barrel, fixed blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with ‘u’ notch, smooth trigger, serrated round hammer spur, manual safety on the left side of the slide, loaded chamber indicator, push button magazine release, factory 8 round magazine with black synthetic finger rest floorplate, and two-piece checkered black synthetic grips with molded Walther banners. The frame & slide are stamped with [crown]/”N” proofs. Pistol retains approximately 80% of its original blued finish showing holster wear, thinning, and minor pin prick pitting. Action is crisp, the bore is excellent, markings are sharp and the synthetic grips are near fine. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***C&R Firearm***
