Wards Western Field Model 15A 410 Bore NVSN
Made by Mossberg for Montgomery Wards in the mid 1930's thru the mid 1940's. This is a bolt action shotgun chambered for 3" .410 shells that has a 24" blued barrel with a steel bead front sight, smooth trigger, metal trigger guard and fixed box magazine. The plain one piece wood stock has a finger groove on both sides of the forearm and a smooth metal butt plate. The metal finish is mostly a grey or gunmetal patina with some surface rust and possible minor pitting in spots. Wood stocks are fine with some rubbing and minor scratches but does appear to have been varnished at some point. There is a chip missing between the front of the magazine and the take-down screw on the bottom of the stock. Bore looks filthy. LOP is 13.75". Choke measures Improved Modified with a choke tube gauge. Condition is NRA Fair *C&R Firearm*
