#K.378 'Krotki Bojowy Karabin Sportowy' Rare Polish, Bolt action rifle single shot in 22 Short, No import marks, Silver plaque on the buttstock inscribed "Kapt.W.Karas" Wladyslaw Karas (1893-1942) was a Polish sport shooter and competitor in the 1936 Summer Olympic games where he took the bronze medal in the 50 meter prone rifle event. Karas went on to serve as part of the Polish Resistance Army and was executed by the Germans in 1942. Includes two Polish army uniform buttons on a shield shaped piece of cloth marked on the back in Polish and roughly translated to "Officer's uniforms and buttons of my last Polish uniform at the time of the Germans".
