Royal Navy issued. The Webley Mark II .455 caliber service revolver was officially adopted by British forces in 1894. Royal Navy variants feature distinct broad-arrow acceptance stamps on the topstrap and an “N” property mark on the backstrap, which this revolver has. Serial number puts manufacture between 1900 & 1902. Top-break double action revolver chambered for .455 Webley. Features a blued finish, 4" barrel, forged round blade front sight, notched rear sight on the barrel catch, fluted six-shot cylinder, automatic extractor, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, lanyard ring on the bird's head shaped butt, two-piece checkered black hard rubber grips. Serial numbers match on the barrel& frame, "60528" on the cylinder. British proof marks are observed on the barrel and over every charge hole on the cylinder. Other markings include large broad arrow on the topstrap , "WEBLEY/MARK II/PATENTS" on the frame, "N" over "16" on backstrap. Cylinder not shaved, with proofs and other marks visible on rear face. Bore is excellent/bright with strong rifling. Retains about 85% original finish with edge/handling wear, some scattered small nicks. Grips are good with some wear. Action is smooth, has good lock-up. Cylinder turns freely with trigger at rest. Extractor operation is strong. British lanyard attached.
