Webley Mark VI .455 SN: 388997
WWI Era British military top-break double action service revolver originally chambered for .455 Webley, dated 1918. Six shot cylinder has been 'shaved' at rear to 1.45" long, to allow use of moon clipped 45acp cartridges, which is generally considered too powerful for this action. Features a blued finish, 5.75" barrel, pinned front sight with replacement red plastic blade, 'v' notched rear sight on the barrel catch, square-butt frame, two-piece smooth wood grips. The serial numbers match on the frame and barrel. Lanyard ring is missing, replaced with a plug. Grips are aftermarket with good fit and appear well made, in very good condition. The barrel has been stamped "4063". Bore is good to very good, bright with sharp rifling, some frosting and needs cleaning. Revolver exhibits 70% coverage of a mottled brown and gray color, in some areas similar to cold blue, with bare metal on sharp edges. Return spring for the top latch is broken. Cylinder is a bit loose at rest, fair to good lock-up when trigger is held to rear. Condition is NRA Good - needs replacement latch spring *** C&R Firearm ***
