Webley & Scott MK I Semi-Automatic Pistol, #7912, .455 S/L cal., 3-1/2'' barrel, matte blue finish, factory checkered gutta percha grips, with one original magazine. Pistol is dated 1917. An RAF blue lanyard and a 1939 dated blue RAF holster are included. This is the first self-loading pistol to be adopted by the British as the Royal Navy began its issuance in 1912. Soon after the Royal Horse Artillery and then the Royal Flying Corps adopted them. Many of these RFC pistol where carried through to WWII and impressed into service with RAF bomber crews in the early stages of WWII. Condition is fine retaining about 92% of what is probably an English inter-war arsenal finish. Pistol shows no import marks or release from Gov't service markings. Grips and action are fine, bore is bright. Holster and lanyard are fine with some mild fading but no tears or tatters. Est.: $3,500-$5,000. (C&R/PPT)
