Scotland is a place that stays with you — ancient castles rising from mist-covered hills, stone streets glowing beneath Edinburgh’s evening lights, and Highland roads winding past lochs, mountains, and fields of heather. And woven through it all is whisky: a spirit shaped by the land, perfected over generations, and at the heart of Scottish tradition.
From the historic streets of Edinburgh to the rugged beauty of the Highlands and legendary whisky country of Speyside, this five-night journey invites you to taste, explore, and experience the soul of Scotland one unforgettable dram at a time.
Edinburgh: History, Character & the Spirit of Scotland
Begin your journey in Edinburgh, where centuries of history unfold along atmospheric cobblestone streets, hidden closes, lively pubs, and grand Georgian squares. Your stay at B+B Hotel Edinburgh (or similar) offers a comfortable home base for discovering the Scottish capital, from the dramatic silhouette of Edinburgh Castle to the energy of the Royal Mile.
As evening settles over the city, step into a cozy pub, listen to the hum of conversation over a warming dram, and experience the unmistakable atmosphere that makes Edinburgh so captivating.
A Taste of Scotland: Whisky & Dinner in Edinburgh
Your introduction to Scotland’s national spirit begins at The Scotch Whisky Experience, where you’ll journey into the fascinating world of Scotch — discovering the regions, aromas, flavors, and traditions behind one of the country’s greatest exports.
Then, settle in for a three-course Taste of Scotland dinner accompanied by six whiskies, turning the evening into a delicious exploration of Scottish flavor. From the first pour to the final course, it’s an immersive celebration of the craftsmanship, cuisine, and character that make Scotland unlike anywhere else.
Blair Castle: Step Into Centuries of Scottish History
Journey into the Highlands to Blair Castle, a magnificent ancestral home steeped in more than seven centuries of Scottish history. Walk through grand rooms filled with portraits, period furnishings, historic artifacts, and stories of the generations who called these walls home.
Surrounded by the dramatic Highland landscape, the castle offers a glimpse into another Scotland — one of clans, nobility, tradition, and stories that have endured for centuries.
Inverness: Your Gateway to the Highlands
Continue north for two nights at Kingsmills Hotel (or similar) in Inverness. Here, the pace slows and the landscape takes center stage. Rolling green countryside gives way to rugged hills and legendary lochs, while the warmth of Highland hospitality makes you feel instantly at home.
It’s the perfect base for exploring Scotland’s whisky country, where some of its most celebrated traditions have been carefully preserved for generations.
Cardhu: From Grain to Glass
Step inside the world of Scotch whisky at Cardhu Distillery, surrounded by the rolling hills of Speyside. During the Cardhu Flavour Journey, discover the people, passion, and craftsmanship behind every bottle as your guide leads you through the story of this historic distillery.
The experience culminates with a tasting of three whiskies, giving you the opportunity to slow down, savor each sip, and discover the distinctive flavors that have made Speyside whisky celebrated around the world.
Speyside Cooperage: The Craft Behind the Cask
Whisky may begin with grain and water, but much of its character is born inside the barrel. At Speyside Cooperage, step behind the scenes of one of Scotland’s most fascinating traditional crafts and watch skilled coopers breathe new life into oak casks using techniques passed down through generations.
During the Toasting Tour, feel the heat, smell the toasted oak, and witness firsthand how fire and craftsmanship prepare each cask for the whisky it will eventually hold. Finish with a whisky tasting — a fitting toast to the remarkable skill hidden behind every dram.
From Edinburgh’s historic streets to Highland castles and the whisky traditions of Speyside, this is more than a journey through Scotland. It’s a chance to taste its history, meet its traditions, and raise a glass to a country that knows how to leave an impression.
Please note: A rental car is not included in this package, but is strongly recommended to easily explore Scotland at your own pace.
