Vintage English made hammer fired side-lock side-by-side shotgun chambered for 2-3/4" 12 Gauge shells, and manufactured in Huddersfield, England. This shotgun was made by a Yorkshire gun maker named William Golden. Shotgun has a color-case lock, hammers, receiver, and top lever. The other features include approximately 29-3/4" Damascus barrels, steel bead front sight, both bores measure 'Improved Cylinder' with a drop-in gauge, double smooth curved triggers, double external hammers with checkered spurs, fully engraved top lever, floating firing pins, and an ejector. The finely figured hardwood furniture consists of a straight gripped shoulder stock with checkering at the wrist, a splinter forend with a push-button style release (Maybe a W.C. Scott & Sons type release), clean brass escutcheon on the bottom of the shoulder stock, 14-1/2" length-of-pull to the front trigger, 1-1/4" drop at comb, 1-7/8" drop at heel, and a checkered horn butt plate. Receiver, locks, and most of the other components are fully engraved with floral scrolls. The original color-case finish retained is approximately 20% with general thinning leaving a very clean look. Metal displays no rust, or deformation. The action opens smooth and quickly under its own weight, fire control group works well, and the top lever rests slightly to the right of the tangs centerline. Bores are bright and shinny, and the furniture wood is in excellent condition with superficial handling marks.
Condition is NRA Excellent.
