12 Ga Shotguns: #1) Winchester 1200 12 Ga SN: WCT-68 217 #2) Winchester 1400 12 Ga SN: WCT-68 218. These were intended to be given as prizes for top competitors in a Winchester sponsored competition, "Winchester Claybird Tournament". 1968 was the only year that Winchester produced a special gun for the tournament, and normally the guns were awarded to different competitors, and did not stay together as a set. This specific consecutive numbered set was reportedly never awarded, instead became the property of Ed Ulrich, Winchester's head of sales & marketing. Special features include: gold plated grip caps bearing a red "W", gold plated safety button & bolt release & magazine cap, deluxe 3X walnut stocks and forends (or pump handles). #1) Features 30" vent rib barrel, Full choke, red polymer Bradley front bead & steel mid bead, impressed checkering on wood, ventilated recoil pad. Bore is excellent. Retains 98% finish with several scratches to receiver sides, otherwise appearing like new. #2) Features 26" barrel, Skeet choke, red polymer Bradley front bead & steel mid bead, impressed checkering on wood, checkered plastic buttplate. Retains 95% finish, with pits in metal along rear of receiver next to wood. Buttstock is loose, appears removed to allow cleaning and touch up of receiver rear or reblue of entire receiver. Set includes original factory boxes, two 3rd place award plaques for the 1968 year WCT competition. Conditions are NRA Excellent (model 1200) & Good++ (1400) *** C&R Firearms ***
