American made slide-action repeating shotgun chambered for 2-3/4" 20 Gauge shotshells. The Model 1200 'Field Grade' was in production from 1964 until 1981, and was meant to replace the more expensive Model 12. Shotgun features a blued finish, a 28" round barrel, steel bead front sight, the fixed choke measures 'Improved Cylinder' with a drop-in gauge, half-length tube magazine under the barrel, serrated magazine tube cap, smooth curved trigger with beveled edges, aluminum trigger guard, annular cut push-button safety at the front of the trigger guard, and a black finished aluminum receiver. The walnut furniture consists of a semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock with press-checkering at the wrist, press-checkered slide handle, steel black grip cap with a red Winchester trademark, 14" length-of-pull, and a ventilated Winchester red rubber recoil pad with white and black spacers. The original black finish retained is approximately 98% with minor scratches on the bottom of the trigger guard, light muzzle wear, and contact wear from the slide. Metal displays no deformation, but there is sparse oxidative speckling along the barrel. Action is smooth and crisp. The bore is smooth, but appears dirty. The furniture wood is in near excellent condition with superficial handling blemishes, and a couple of scuffs on the right side of the slide handle. The exact date of manufacture cannot be determined.
Condition is NRA Good.
