Winchester 1873 Third Model lever action rifle, .44-40 WCF caliber, Serial #452427B. The rifle is in good to very good overall condition with a 24” octagon barrel and full-length magazine. The rifle has gone toan overall grey patina with a replacement rear sight. The caliber marking is still legible on the brass cartridge elevator and the dust cover is present. The hammer shows silvered case hardening and there is stilldull blue on the loading gate. The smooth wood stocks are in good condition with mars and compressions. The butt stock ends with a smooth steel crescent butt plate with a trap and there is a crude repair at the toe. The bore is fair and the action works well on this desirable Model 1873 circa 1893. Est.: $1,250-$2,500. (Antique).
